-- The Washington Post

"Ireally like Yoga District. It is a great little neighborhoodyplace. The mission is affordable, eco-friendly yoga. The space isbeautiful. The classes are challenging.  Basically, it is a littlegarden of yoga Eden. Check it out, your first 3 classes are $10... Sogood." --Review at  www.yelp.com

"Iwould seriously give this place ten stars if yelp would let me... Untilnext time Yoga District. I miss you." --Review at www.yelp.com

"Gothere! The young turks of the DC yoga scene are bringing $10 classesto... yogis in the city. Two locations on Dupont Circle and T at14th, this is the the place to be. With all the overpriced andoverhyped yoga studios in town, Yoga District has managed to hit thesweet spot. Hip, affordable and with a sense of humor." --Review atyelp.com

"Imade it to Bernie's Yoga for Misfits class... which was great... Thestudio is great, simple and close to home, exactly what I need."--E-mail review
Christina's bio

Christina Alon first began practicing yoga as an alternative to her usual cardio workouts (i.e. running, kickboxing classes) and was immediately hooked for its mental and physical benefits. After graduating from the University of Maryland Baltimore County with her Bachelors in psychology, she spent a year in her hometown of Cherry Hill, NJ, working with young children with developmental disabilities, notably autism, a job Christina simply described as "Rewarding? Yes. Stressful. YES!" During this time, Christina relied heavily on exercise, especially yoga, to help relieve her stress. In 2002, Christina took the plunge and moved to the DC area. A few years later she had an epiphany-like moment and decided to teach doing the something she has always enjoyed: yoga. She earned her yoga certification at DC Yoga. Christina added Pilates to her teaching resume, studying with Mark Trudeau of Quantum Pilates (WDC) and earning her certification through Power Pilates of New York, under the watchful eye and training of Tressa Campbell.

Christina's classes

Christina incorporates elements from both yoga and pilates in her classes, which she would classify as parts strengthening/core conditioning/stetching in flow type movement. Her favorite moments as a teacher are seeing students return to her class week after week.
