"Ireally like Yoga District. It is a great little neighborhoodyplace. The mission is affordable, eco-friendly yoga. The space isbeautiful. The classes are challenging.  Basically, it is a littlegarden of yoga Eden. Check it out, your first 3 classes are $10... Sogood." --Review at  www.yelp.com

"Iwould seriously give this place ten stars if yelp would let me... Untilnext time Yoga District. I miss you." --Review at www.yelp.com

"Gothere! The young turks of the DC yoga scene are bringing $10 classesto... yogis in the city. Two locations on Dupont Circle and T at14th, this is the the place to be. With all the overpriced andoverhyped yoga studios in town, Yoga District has managed to hit thesweet spot. Hip, affordable and with a sense of humor." --Review atyelp.com

"Imade it to Bernie's Yoga for Misfits class... which was great... Thestudio is great, simple and close to home, exactly what I need."--E-mail review
Jasmine's bio

Jasmine Chehrazi began studying yoga in 2002 and started teaching in 2006. Jasmine traveled to Berlin to study Vinyasa Flow oga under Henning Scheel and Florian Schoessler at Yoga Shala; the Sivananda Ashram in Kitzbuhl, Austria to study Sivananda Yoga; Mexico to study Baptiste Power Flow Yoga with Yoga Source; and back to DC to study Hatha Yoga with Michelle Mae Orr, trained directly by James Brown, the yoga mind behind Yoga Works and YogaPoser. In December 2006, Jasmine founded Yoga District as a nonprofit collection of chill yoga studios, in an effort to bring an eco-friendly, untraditional, challenging, affordable, and creative yoga studios to diverse communities in the District.

Jasmine’s various classes focus on building core strength, increasing flexibility, and combining various types of yoga to offer challenging classes that are therapeutic and athletic both. Jasmine's multilevel classes keep things challenging and appropriate for everyone from beginners to advanced students. She is careful in modifying her classes for students with injuries, and provides lots of tips to maintain proper alignment to prevent injury. Her relaxed, nurturing nature can gently lead you to safely challenge yourself as you let it all go, go "inside" and experience inspiring solitude on your mat, even if in a crowded room

Her classes include a vigorous vinyasa-style warm up with strengthening postures. She takes the time to encourage her students to focus on proper alignment and breathing rather than rush through transitions and postures. This can make their postures more challenging and effective. Jasmine likes to wind down her classes with a well deserved series of heart-opening, hip-opening and overall relaxing & relieving postures to stretch students' muscles and minds. Ending her classes with deep stretches held for longer periods of time also helps her students ready for final relaxation, at which time Jasmine doesn't hesitate to help students find even deeper relaxation with a healing shoulder rub.
